HAL is an organization that is open to artists of many different genre, painting, pastels, photographers, potters, sculptors and anyone who just has a love for the arts. Hosting multiple shows each year for members and non members as well as student art shows for local students. The exhibitions give everyone involved a unique opportunity to showcase their artwork on a regular basis.
Students residing in the five touching counties (Boone, Carroll, Marion, Newton, and Searcy) seeking a degree in visual fine arts at Arkansas colleges or universities may apply for a $500 scholarship.
The Harrison Art League, formed in 1963, is a non-profit, tax exempt organization. All work is done by member volunteers. HAL in association with North Central Arkansas Concert Assoc., The Theater Company and Women's Book Club to form the "Ozark Arts Council" in 1996. The groups goal is to ensure all arts are represented in the Harrison area. To develop a central organization that can help with publicity and fundraising.

HAL in association with North Central Arkansas Concert Assoc., The Theater Company and Women's Book Club went together to form the "Ozark Arts Council" in 1996. And now includes; The Theatre Company of the Ozarks, Northark Drama, International Thespian Society Troupe 2715, Twentieth Century Club, Lyric Theater Concert Association, and the Children’s Choir of the Ozarks.
